Over the years, Revolution Consulting has responded to customer needs by not only providing top-notch services but by also developing software applications that address specific challenges of remote computing not addressed by other products. Our applications are designed to be extremely flexible and can be quickly customized to meet your specific requirements. They include...

Connection Manager - provides a single interface for managing multiple connection methods and viewing connection status

Subscription Manager - enables the distribution and management of files, reports and documents to remote and mobile workers through an HTML-based interface

Workbench - provides a common interface to all users, allowing them to launch applications, view corporate announcements, and access files and documents from one interface

The benefits of arming mobile workers with wireless WAN or Wi-Fi access can be enormous…that is, if it’s easy to use. Here are just a few of the hurdles our customers have had to overcome when dealing with wireless and other types of mobile connectivity...

  • Users have multiple connection methods (wireless, dial-up, Ethernet, satellite, etc.), each of which has it’s own initiation process
  • Multiple wireless service providers are required/desired (which means the method and interface for establishing wireless connections can vary across the user community)
  • Users are constantly having to re-establish both wireless and VPN connections because of spotty coverage
  • Administrators have little control over what activities are being performed and over what type of connection

Revolution designed and developed our Connection Manager solution to address the challenges experienced by our client community. It provides a straightforward graphical interface for managing multiple types of connections and viewing connection status. A unique AutoConnect feature will work to maintain a connection during a defined time schedule – days of the week and start and end time – when the system is active and has the appropriate resources available (i.e. wireless signal, battery level, etc.).

The event management functions of Connection Manager enable administrators to define the automatic initiation of processes and activities based on time of day, connection type, or other certain rules and criteria.

Think of it as a mobile (and electronic) file cabinet. From an HTML-based interface, users can view folders and a list of their contents (reports, documents, etc), select which files they would like a copy of, and then download them one at a time or all at once. When the originals of the documents they have downloaded are updated, they automatically get a copy of the new version. And, with a click of a button, users are able to view all new/updated documents and reports.

Subscription Manager is as easy to use for the administrator as it is for the users. Administrators are able to control which users have access to which files and folders. They can also define publish and expiration dates for report and document availability. All around, Subscription Manager provides a fast and reliable means for distributing and maintaining corporate documents and reports to workers in the field.

Just because workers carry laptop computers, it doesn't mean they are technically savvy. In fact, many of them only know how to use the one or two applications that are critical to their jobs. So how do organizations supply these types of workers with information and applications they need in a consolidated, simple to use interface? They give them a Workbench.

Workbench is a centrally maintained, HTML-based "desktop" that provides a simple and easy to navigate interface for users. From a Workbench, users can launch applications, view announcements published by corporate, and access reports and documents.

Because it is HTML-based, it is extremely lightweight and therefore easy to distribute and update on users' systems. And, unlike a web page, it is accessible and fully functional at all times, whether users are on- or offline.
